Equinix Opens Five Liquid-Cooling Test Centers for High-Density AI Systems
Equinix launched production-ready liquid-cooling test environments in five global data centers, with additional EPIC sites planned for 2027.
Equinix has launched a global network of production-ready liquid-cooling test environments for high-density AI infrastructure. The company’s Enhanced Performance Innovation Centers, or EPIC, are operating inside live Equinix data centers in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, Paris and Sydney, with more locations planned for 2027.
Customers can use the sites to test liquid-cooled GPU and CPU platforms, AI training and inference workloads, and the interaction of cooling, power, networking and facility operations before committing to broader deployments. Equinix says the centers are intended to identify integration and operating issues under production conditions.
The October 21 announcement describes an infrastructure-validation program rather than a new data-center construction commitment, and it does not disclose capital spending, rack capacity or power capacity for the centers.
