Cochise County has posted a pending special-use application for a proposed artificial-intelligence data-center campus and battery energy storage system on approximately 747 acres east of U.S. Highway 191 near Cochise, Arizona.

Tombstone Resources L.L.C. submitted docket SU26-22. Applicant materials describe as many as nine computing buildings delivered in four phases, with estimated electrical demand of up to 6 gigawatts at full build-out, plus battery storage, electrical, cooling and support infrastructure. The land is currently zoned RU-4 Rural.

The county emphasizes that these figures come from the applicant and have not been independently verified or endorsed. No approval has been issued. A November 4 applicant-hosted meeting has passed, while the formal Planning and Zoning Commission hearing is scheduled for December 9.

The county’s updated project page moves the hearing start from the previously announced 4 p.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Written comments received by noon November 27 are expected to be included in the commission packet; later comments can still enter the public record.

The application is a regulatory-stage proposal, not a confirmed investment, construction award or open procurement. The next material milestone is the December 9 commission hearing, when the commission may approve, condition or deny the request.
