Removal of Syracuse's elevated I-81 viaduct and creation of a connected street network. The July 2026 contract announcement advances the next phase of the Community Grid program. Contract six includes I-690 realignment from Leavenworth Avenue to North Crouse Avenue and rehabilitation of 25 local streets, including water and sewer replacements. Contract 6a separately covers a mile-long underground stormwater trunkline and local street improvements.
