IAWAI is delivering a new 25-million-litre central-city reservoir at Hamilton Lake Domain in Hamilton/Kirikiriroa, New Zealand, together with a pump station at Clarence Street. Hamilton City Council previously planned the work; IAWAI took responsibility for water-service delivery on July 1, 2026.
The delivery organization’s September 28 announcement gives a NZ$86.1 million budget for the reservoir and pump station, including management, investigation and construction. Funding sits within a broader NZ$150.6 million Crown Infrastructure Acceleration Fund grant covering multiple water and wastewater projects; that full grant is not the cost of this individual program.
Following the September 28 ceremony, early site setup is scheduled through October. Main construction is expected to start in late 2026 and continue through 2028. Those are planned dates rather than verified completion milestones.
This is a current project profile based on the September 28 source, not a new October 14 project announcement. The reviewed page does not identify the construction contractor.
