Overview
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is the state agency responsible for connecting people, products and places across North Carolina. NCDOT plans, builds, operates and maintains highways and bridges while also overseeing rail, aviation, ferries, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian programs and the North Carolina Turnpike Authority.
