NTT DATA has signed an agreement with Bloom Energy to deploy 900 megawatts of on-site fuel-cell power across multiple data center projects, with initial equipment shipments scheduled for 2027.

NTT Global Data Centers described the systems as primary power for new capacity in markets where grid access can constrain development schedules. The companies did not disclose the agreement’s financial value, the number or locations of participating campuses, or a complete deployment timetable.

Bloom’s modular fuel cells generate electricity without combustion and can be installed in phases alongside data center construction. NTT DATA said the approach is intended to support increasingly power-dense AI workloads while using minimal water and limiting local air emissions and noise.

Doug Adams, chief executive officer of NTT Global Data Centers, said speed to power has become a defining factor in delivering AI capacity. Aman Joshi, Bloom Energy’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, characterized the agreement as a foundation for expansion across strategic markets.

The 900 MW figure is planned generation capacity, not an investment amount, financing commitment or awarded construction contract. Initial shipments in 2027 are the only dated milestone disclosed. For data center developers, electrical contractors and equipment suppliers, the agreement signals a sizable multi-project rollout, but it does not identify an open procurement or site-specific contracting opportunity.

What happens next

Initial Bloom Energy fuel-cell shipments under the agreement are scheduled to begin in 2027; site locations and a full deployment schedule were not disclosed.
