PennDOT Schedules I-95 Ramp Closure for Work Under $61.9 Million Bridge-Repair Program
PennDOT will close the I-95 South ramp to I-76 West at Front Street from October 30 to November 2 for work under a $61.9 million bridge-repair contract.
PennDOT will close the southbound Interstate 95 ramp to I-76 West at Front Street in Philadelphia from 11 p.m. October 30 to 5 a.m. November 2, weather permitting. A southbound I-95 lane between Oregon Avenue and Front Street will also close during the same window.
The work sits within a US$61.9 million regional bridge-and-ramp repair program. PennDOT said the contract covers deteriorated decks, steel and concrete superstructure components, substructures, joints, bearings, sign structures and lighting upgrades. IEW Construction Group is the general contractor, and the program is financed entirely with federal funds.
Drivers will be detoured via the Broad Street/Pattison Avenue exit. The planned restriction is a construction milestone within the broader contract, not a new award or a separate US$61.9 million project for this single ramp.
