Montana Completes 2.3-Mile Havre Concrete Pavement Preservation Project
Montana DOT and A-Core completed concrete pavement preservation work on 2.3 miles of U.S. Highway 2 through Havre.
The Montana Department of Transportation and A-Core Concrete Specialists have completed the Havre Urban Concrete Pavement Preservation project, the agency reported October 21. The work covered 2.3 miles of First Street, or U.S. Highway 2, from east of Ninth Avenue Northwest to 22nd Avenue North.
The project sealed pavement cracks and joints, repaired or replaced damaged concrete panels, used controlled line surface grinding to improve ride and traction, replaced decorative stamped crosswalks, and installed updated signs and pavement markings. Permanent epoxy striping and red decorative crosswalk coating were the final activities.
Construction began in mid-May and is now complete. MDT’s update identifies A-Core as its project partner but does not disclose the contract value or a final cost, so no cost estimate is inferred.
