DOE Adds $967 Million for State and Tribal Grid Resilience
DOE announced approximately $967 million in additional formula-grant funding for locally directed grid-resilience work.
The U.S. Department of Energy announced approximately US$967 million in additional funding on October 20 through the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grant program.
DOE says states, territories and tribes may use allocations for locally driven projects that harden critical electricity infrastructure, reduce disruptions, improve system performance and address growing demand. Because this is formula funding, the national amount is not a single project cost or contract award. Recipients must still select projects and follow the applicable funding and procurement requirements.
The announcement points applicants to allocation and application materials through the federal funding portal. It does not identify a new portfolio of selected construction projects, contractors or completion dates. Those details will emerge through recipient plans and subsequent awards.
