The program covers four intersections: the two freeway ramp junctions and Mathews Road’s connections with Manthey Road and El Dorado Street. Planned work includes coordinated traffic signals, accessible sidewalks and turn-lane changes for trucks and projected traffic volumes.
The Department of Veterans Affairs is funding the project to address traffic associated with the Richard A. Pittman outpatient clinic and living center. Caltrans anticipates predominantly overnight work, ramp closures and local-road restrictions.
The start is an announced schedule, rather than independently confirmed construction progress. Caltrans cautions that weather, equipment and traffic conditions may change the work program. Check its official project information before planning site access.
