NVIDIA has introduced DSX Ready, a qualification program initially covering battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units for AI factories.
The company lists qualified battery offerings from Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla, and cooling units from LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv. It explicitly says battery qualification does not replace site engineering or establish stability for a complete facility.
Procurement needs an integration boundary
For an infrastructure owner, the useful question is where a supplier’s qualification stops and the project team’s responsibility begins. Equipment selection should connect to drawings, operating conditions, controls and acceptance tests that describe the actual installation.
Infraday perspective: A product designation can help narrow a procurement shortlist. The owner still needs one accountable process for coordinating equipment packages, resolving interfaces and demonstrating performance before the facility is handed over.
Tender documents should identify the exact model being offered, its tested configuration and any deviations from the intended design. Treating a product family as interchangeable can leave important integration questions until construction.
What to watch
Watch for additional qualification categories, documentation for specific products and the site acceptance requirements used by developers. Product qualification and commissioning are separate milestones.
