The Montana Department of Transportation and Sletten Construction are replacing Sportsman’s Bridge over the Flathead River on Montana Highway 82 near Bigfork. The new structure is being built south of the existing crossing.
The program also includes intersection work at Oldenburg Road and Hanging Rock Drive. MDT’s October 2 update scheduled bridge-deck concrete placement for October 6–7; this entry does not independently confirm completion of those pours.
The published tentative timeline places traffic on the new bridge in fall 2026, old-bridge demolition in winter 2026 and final work in spring/summer 2027. Weather and other conditions may change that schedule. No investment value was found in the reviewed pages.
