CIP Acquires 25% Stake in UK’s Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Project
Copenhagen Infrastructure V acquired the interest previously held by a Macquarie-led consortium; the purchase price was not disclosed.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners said on October 13 that its Copenhagen Infrastructure V fund had acquired a 25% stake in Five Estuaries, an offshore wind project planned off England’s Essex and Suffolk coast. The interest was previously held by a Macquarie-led consortium.
The developer describes planned capacity of up to 1,080 MW, approximately 40 kilometres offshore. Its announcement says the project received development consent in December 2025 and is progressing design and early procurement. These are development-stage milestones; the wind farm is not presented as commissioned generation.
Following the acquisition, CIP identifies the other owners as EDF power solutions with 33.33%, ESB with 20.83% and Sumitomo Corporation with 20.83%. The transaction changes the ownership of the planned project rather than announcing a new operating asset.
The purchase price was not disclosed in the reviewed announcement. The 25% ownership interest is therefore reported separately from investment value, total construction cost and financing commitments. No construction completion date is assigned in this brief.
