NASA released its final request for proposals for commercial space stations on October 9, 2026. U.S. industry proposals are due December 8, with contract awards expected in spring 2027.
The program covers designing, building, testing, certifying and operating commercial destinations in low Earth orbit, alongside end-to-end transportation for human spaceflight. NASA intends to use multiple firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts.
