Crusoe Links Google’s Armstrong County Campus to West Texas Wind Infrastructure
Crusoe identified itself as the developer of Google’s campus under construction near Amarillo, with connections to adjacent wind projects.
Source announcement: September 28, 2026
Crusoe announced on September 28 that it is developing Google’s data center campus in Armstrong County, Texas, outside Amarillo. The company says the AI-oriented campus is under construction and that work began in June 2025.
The campus connects directly to Serena’s adjacent Goodnight 1 wind farm, which Crusoe identifies as operational, and Goodnight 2, which remains under construction. Each wind project is described as 265.5 MW. Those generation ratings should not be read as the campus’s commissioned IT load.
Infraday’s analysis: co-locating energy and computing can change the development sequence, but generation availability and data hall readiness remain separate milestones. The project highlights the need to coordinate power infrastructure, campus construction and operating requirements from the outset.
